Description: The product comes with two white plastic shaft swabs with rayon buds. Both swabs are mounted in the white bell-cap swab holder. In use, the shrouded Bell-Cap grips both the inside and outside of the transport tube to prevent accidental contact with potentially infectious parts of the swab or tube while ensuring containment of the specimen. The transport tube contains Transwab� medium without charcoal, based on Amies� formulation
Method of use: If appropriate a specimen can be collected using both swabs together. One swab can then be removed from the holder and used for near patient testing such as direct plating, preparation of a film for microscopic examination, or other diagnostic tests. The remaining swab is inserted into the transport tube in the normal way and despatched to the laboratory.
