Description: The product comes with a fine straight aluminium wire shaft swab with rayon bud. The swab is mounted in the purple bell-cap swab holder. In use, the shrouded Bell-Cap grips both the inside and outside of the transport tube to prevent accidental contact with potentially infectious parts of the swab or tube while ensuring containment of the specimen. The transport tube contains liquid Virocult� medium within a foam pad. Both swab and transport tube are contained within an easy-to-open peel pouch
Method of use: The specimen is collected from patient with the swab, using the bell-cap as a holder. The swab is inserted into the transport tube, the base of which is gently squeezed to ensure that the bud is moistened with the Virocult® medium. After recording the patients details on the printed label, the Virocult® set is despatched to the laboratory
